Momentum Energy boosts grassroots Tasmanian football
The Managing Director of Momentum Energy, Paul Geason, said the partnership is part of its vision to make energy human by providing new opportunities and resources for young and everyday Tasmanian football fans.
"We know there's tremendous passion for Australian Rules Football in Tasmania. The foundation is about providing the opportunities and resources to match that passion," Mr Geason said.
"We want to see footy-mad Tasmanians given the best opportunities possible to get involved, boost their health and fitness, and enjoy the game they love.
"As a company owned by a Tasmanian icon in Hydro Tasmania, we feel a direct duty to help contribute to the Tasmanian community through programs that benefit and provide opportunity for Tasmanians. We look forward to connecting to expat Tasmanians living in our key mainland markets on our shared passion for football & Tasmania," Mr Geason said.
Momentum has a strong association with Australian Rules Football, including a significant sponsorship relationship with the Geelong Football Club.
AFL Tasmania formally launched the Tasmanian Football Foundation earlier this week in Campbell Town.
The CEO of AFL Tasmania, Rob Auld, said the Tasmanian Football Foundation is a landmark commitment to unite and grow all levels of the game across Tasmania.
"Through the foundation, we are launching a range of fundraising programs that will be of interest and impact the vast majority of football fans," Auld said.
"The support and commitment from the team at Momentum Energy is greatly appreciated by AFL Tasmania and the board of the Foundation and we look forward to working with Momentum on a range of initiatives to enable expat Tasmanians to give back to the game they grew up playing and supporting in Tasmania," Mr Auld said.
