Can you tell me more about Momentum Energy?
Momentum Energy commenced retailing electricity in 2004. We are a specialist supplier of electricity to business customers, providing competitive rates and quality products and services. Does Momentum Energy supply natural gas?
At this time, we are an electricity retailer specialist. Should we offer gas supply in the future, you can be assured that we will be offering the same standard of service, loyalty and genuine savings that our electricity customers enjoy right now.
Will there be any change to my service?
No. It's so simple to switch to Momentum Energy because the same company that currently reads your meter will continue to do so. So you can just relax and enjoy the savings!
Can I have an extension to pay my account?
We may, in certain circumstances, be able to give an extension to a customer to pay their account. We have a range of payment options, including instalment plans, as well as concessions and financial counsellors.

Why is my bill higher than I expected?
There are many reasons why your electricity bill could be higher than you expected. These can all impact on your electricity consumption or reading and add up to a higher bill than expected.
- Did you entertain more at home during this period?
- Have any additional people been residing with you or stayed over?
- Have you purchased or used a new appliance or began operating an existing appliance for a longer period due to seasonal temperatures such as Heaters or Air Conditioning?
- Are you comparing your current bill to a previous bill where a concession was included (for example, the Victorian Winter Energy Concession is only applicable for bills issued during the months of May - November).
Why does my GST not appear to be exactly 1/11th of the Amount Due?
GST is calculated at 10% of the total taxable charges on your bill. The Amount Due includes the GST & taxable charges, but may also include items that are not subject to GST, such as some concessions and bill credits that are applied after the GST is calculated. You will find these amounts detailed on the back of your bill.
Do the rates remain the same if I sign with Momentum Energy for a specific contract period?
Customers with a fixed term contract with Momentum Energy are subject to annual CPI increases, and pass through of network and regulated charges. Any contracts which are not fixed are subject to price variance.
What is the difference between peak 1, peak 2 and off peak? Am I eligible for off peak rates?

Peak 1:

The first portion of peak energy consumption (kWh) you use in a billing period. This amount is determined by the tariff assigned by your distributor.

Peak 2:
|
The remaining portion of peak energy consumption (kWh) after peak 1 that you use in a billing period.

Off Peak:
|
E1 tariff usage between 11pm - 7am Monday to Sunday is off peak. All other tariffs usage between 11pm - 7am Monday to Friday and all weekend is off peak.

Off peak rates are only applicable to meters that have an off peak register or COMMS meters. If there is no off peak register, the meter is not physically capable of recording off peak usage.
How can I pay my Momentum Energy bill?
Momentum Energy offers a range of payment options, including:
Direct Debit: Fill in the enclosed direct debit form to arrange this easy way of managing your account.
BPAY®: Payments can be made easily through your participating financial institution.
Australia Post Bill Pay: Present your invoice in person at any Post Office Branch.
Pay Online: Pay your bill online using your Amex, Visa Card, MasterCard or Bankcard. Simply click on the ‘pay your bill’ icon on the homepage to use the web portal. Be sure to quote your Reference Number located on the back of your bill.
Mail: Mail your cheque or money order to (payable to Momentum Energy) together with your payment slip to: Momentum Energy, GPO Locked Bag 2960, MELBOURNE VIC 3000.
