Green News: Businesses take up GreenPower and Save

Through a recent collaboration between the Victorian Government and VECCI, a pilot study revealed that it was possible for businesses to reduce their bills and their carbon footprint whilst taking up GreenPower. Visit our news section to find out more about the study.

What does green mean for my business?

Being “Green” is no longer a revolution of the Green Age—it’s a basic business philosophy that customers expect. Most companies are implementing sustainable energy practices, and Government Accredited GreenPower sales have risen considerably over the last few years.

How do I support the generation of renewable energy?

There's no hassle in switching to a more environmentally sustainable approach. It starts with your decision not to support carbon intensive electricity that is generated using fossil fuels. When you buy GreenPower, your electricity supply does not change, but your contribution helps foster the generation of new renewable energy.

A cost-benefit approach

Yes, GreenPower does cost a little more. Yet, companies are now realising that the small additional cost of using GreenPower is outweighed by the business benefits.

Apart from building your business’ positive approach to sustainability and helping society move towards the use of renewable materials, there is a strategic business benefit. By purchasing 10% or more of GreenPower, your business has access to the GreenPower logo for promotional material. Through your website, email signature or brochures, you can promote your business as environmentally aware. That's not to say the whole image of your products and organisation will change, but at least your customers know you're not behind the 8-ball. Along with typewriters, using fossil fuel generated energy is no longer the most profitable way of doing business.

To find out more about how your business can benefit from renewable energy programs such as GreenPower visit the government's ChooseGreen website.
