For full features and added GreenPower, make it Strictly Business. Full features means things like being able to choose how you pay (as opposed to direct debit) and how you get your bills (paper or electronic).

The reference price was introduced in 2019 and is a benchmark electricity price set by the government to make it easier to compare power company prices. Most power companies offer rates that are below the reference price, and they present the discount as a percentage (i.e. ‘the rates for this plan are 15% off the reference price’). By having a single price that all electricity plans are compared to, customers can easily see which plan has the greatest discount.

It’s our relationship with Hydro Tasmania – Australia’s largest renewable generator. Momentum has been the retail arm for Hydro Tasmania for more than ten years.

This sets us apart from other retailers, some of which are owned by – or part of – fossil fuel companies. And although the electricity our customers get comes from the grid, from both renewable and non-renewable sources (the same as everybody else’s), the money they spend on their power bills isn’t going back to companies that remain committed to fossil fuels.
