Support

If you need help with your account, contact us.

For questions about generation or distribution, contact Hydro Tasmania.

All emergencies and faults should be reported to TasNetworks by calling 13 2004, 24 hours a day. Hydro Tasmania doesn’t have a dedicated 24-hour call centre service, so TasNetworks currently receives fault information on our behalf.

Getting connected

If you’re moving into or out of a property, all you need to do is give us a call on 1300 662 778.

To get a new property connected to the network, we’ll need a few more details.

Fill in the application form for new connections and send it back to newconnections@momentum.com.au.

You’ll also need to provide Hydro Tasmania with the details of your site. You can find out how to do this on their new connections page.

If you’re putting in a new solar system you’ll need approval from Hydro Tasmania too. Have a look at their solar installations page for more information.

Understanding bills and usage

You can read our guide on reading energy bills.

To see where you can save energy, take a look at our energy saving tips for home or at work.

Concessions and life support

Information on Tasmanian concessions and life support is on our concessions page.

If you’ve got life support equipment, let us know as soon as you can by calling us. Once you’ve got in touch, you’ll also need to fill out a life support concession form and return it to us.

Terms, conditions and pricing

Once you become a customer, you’ll get a welcome pack with all the terms of your contract and pricing. Below are the standard documents that apply to all Bass Strait Island customers.

As a Momentum customer, the Bass Strait Islands standard terms and conditions apply to you.

You can see a summary of your rights, entitlements and obligations of you as a customer, and Momentum and Hydro Tasmania as your providers in the Bass Strait Islands customer charter.

You’ll find more information on rates, charges and fees in the Bass Strait Islands tariff charges and supply fee schedule and the summary of public and contracted lighting fees.

Solar power

If you have a renewable energy generating system with a total capacity of less than 7.46kWh, the Bass Strait Islands solar feed-in tariff agreement will apply to you.

If your system exceeds that capacity, your terms and conditions will be in your connection agreement.
