When asked for an easy and cost-effective way to help meet their decarbonisation goals, a CPPA (Corporate Power Purchase Agreement) was fit for the job for NSW employment services organisation Joblink Plus.
We were able to set them up with the right contract to help them meet their sustainability targets so they can focus on what they do best – helping job seekers in regional NSW.
And the answer they sought lay in a wind farm on the rugged west coast of Tasmania.
Joblink Plus is a not-for-profit employment services provider serving communities throughout regional NSW. They approached Momentum keen to discuss options to meet their sustainability targets as easily and affordably as possible.

Like many organisations we’re looking for the best ways to bring our environment, social and governance commitments to life, with real action and tangible benefits for both the organisation and the community. Momentum brought a solution to the table that we’re proud to be a part of.
The solution to JobLink's energy challenge was a contract, known as a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA).
Momentum’s CPPA makes it possible for Joblink Plus to demonstrate their support for a specific renewable energy project. The contract matches its energy consumption with renewable generation from the Granville Harbour Wind Farm.
How does that work exactly? Well, behind the scenes with us, Joblink Plus receives Large-Scale Generation Certificates (LGCs) – which is a government recognised currency for buying and selling renewable energy. The contract covers more than 40 Joblink sites across regional NSW between now and September 2026.
Although the electricity supplied to their sites comes from the national grid (and contains a mix of renewables and non-renewables), the CPPA ensures Joblink’s energy consumption is matched with an equivalent amount of energy generation from the Granville Harbour Wind Farm in Tasmania, which has a maximum capacity of 112MW. Although the wind farm is more than 1000 kilometers away from Joblink operations, Granville Harbour Wind Farm is adding wind power to the national grid on their behalf.
Momentum Energy Managing Director Lisa Chiba said the CPPA was a great way to help businesses meet their sustainability targets with wind energy, regardless of where they are located.
‘Our CPPA gives customers price certainty for renewable generation costs over the term of the contract and an opportunity to participate in a meaningful way in the transition to net zero,’ she said.
A CPPA can really take a lot of the heavy lifting out of meeting business sustainability requirements.
